Your computer can have one or two video adapters. There are usually two or three options in the list. You may need to hide lamps if they block the view to other objects.ġ3 – Make locked objects semi-transparent on the floor plan.ġ4 – Show or hide furniture in the elevation view. When it is on, the viewpoint is usually displayed as a blue triangle on the floor plan.ġ2 – Show or hide the ceiling light fixtures. These guidelines show up temporarily when you move a tool or object near another object in order to help you align them correctly.ħ – Show or hide walls of the story above the current one.Ĩ – Show or hide walls of the story below the current one.ġ1 – Show or hide the viewpoint. The program sets up the grid spacings automatically depending on the zoom percentage of the 2D view.ĥ – Show or hide floor labels that can display the floor area and some other information.Ħ – Activate or deactivate smart guidelines and snapping to them. When enabled, objects will snap to one another when in close proximity.Ģ – Snap Sensitivity defines how close the selected object needs to be to another before the objects snap together.ģ – Show or hide the grid. This option concerns the behavior of drawing tools and objects when you move or resize them. The Clear button removes unnecessary temporary files and thumbnails of library objects when there is no any open or unsaved document. The Restore Library… button restores the material and object libraries. The Back up Library… button backs up the material and object libraries. The Windows color settings button opens the color settings of the operating system. Choose Default to have the same theme as the operating system has. The Choose a theme drop-down menu lets you select a color theme. The Project section lets you set up the current project. The General, 2D and 3D sections contain the application settings. To display the program settings, click the menu button and select Settings. You can also set up the text alignment.Live Home 3D Workspace The Program Settings You can select a font and change its typeface, size and color. You can also apply them to a floor label. The text settings in the Text Annotations section work with the Text Annotation and Dimension objects. You can use these tools on either floor plan or in Elevation view ( Pro edition only). The block of two buttons on the right can distribute spacing and centers of windows, doors, openings, niches, and wall panels that are installed into a wall. This feature is mostly used for objects of Furniture type. The left block lets you distribute spacing or centers of the selected objects. The Distribute section has two blocks of buttons. To do this, select at least two objects and choose one of options in the Align section. You can align selected objects by their edges or centers. When you change the representation of all objects by selecting all of them on the floor plan, objects with locked representation will retain the original one. The lock icon is used to lock or unlock the 2D representation of certain objects. The created image will be in the raster format. There is the possibility to change the opacity of the image which is useful when objects overlap on the floor plan. It is similar to what you can see in the 3D view. The Auto Image option creates a 2D representation upon the current object's top view. If you select it, the program will create the object's outline based on the top view. The Auto Outline option works with most of the library objects and all imported objects. To display a drawn object such as a floor, the program will refer to the Stroke, Fill and Hatch settings explained earlier. The standard images are in the vector format. To open the library, bring up the Type & Representation dialog and open the 2D section. If the default image doesn't match an object, you can choose another image from the library or import it. When the Custom option is selected, a library object (or imported one) will be displayed on the floor plan using one of the 2D representation images taken from the standard library. The 2D Representation tool can work with library objects as well as with objects created using the drawing tools. You can also use the Stroke tool to change the color of the Dimension object. Stroke and Fill can be applied to the Text Annotation object. The tools in this section are intended to work with objects which are created using the drawing tools such as a wall or floor. The Fill and Hatch tools let you fill an object with a solid color or pattern. Using the Stroke tool, you can show or hide the object's outline. The settings in the Drawing section contain the Stroke, Fill and Hatch tools. To open the tab, choose Window > Inspector > 2D Properties.
